Hi, Cliff here. I'm offering you my delicious Yummy Uglies hard candy. Here's the short version of why you should consider buying a bag:Sugar-free
, no sucrose
Truly low-carb
, the
lowest
real carb content and lowest calorie hard candy I've found anywhere*
Little or no effect on glucose or insulin levels
Least likely sugar-free hard candy to have a laxative effect
*
I've searched the Internet and all the major selling sites in the U.S. for a sugar-free hard candy with lower carbs or calories. Every SF brand has had 35 to 50 calories per serving of 10 to 18 grams.
For these serving sizes, Yummy Uglies have just 3 to 5 calories.
If you know of a SF hard candy for sale in the U.S. with lower calorie/carb values, contact me here on Ebay.

Yummy Uglies are a tasty, sugar-free, very low-carb, keto-friendly, handmade hard candy. Condition is "New". The price includes the cost of shipping, and I ship with USPS with tracking in the United States. At this time, I don't sell or ship outside the United States. You're buying a bag of Yummy Uglies candy with a net weight of 3.7oz / 105 grams, which is nearly a quarter pound.
Yummy Uglies are made primarily with
erythritol
, a sweetener found in pears, grapes, and watermelon.
My hard candies are
up to 10 times lower in carbs
and calories than most, if not all, sugar-free candies you can buy. I can't find a brand that's lower in real carb content. Yummy Uglies have 3 to 5 calories per 10 to 18 gram serving where most sugar-free candies have 35 to 50 calories for that same size. And of all the alternative sweeteners used to make hard candy, erythritol is
the least likely to upset your digestion
. So, if you want yummy hard candy that's truly low in carbs and calories, and easy on your digestion, try some of my Yummy Uglies.
If you're still reading, you're probably avoiding sugar (sucrose) for some reason, but like me, you still like having something sweet. I was pre-diabetic and overweight, so I began eating low-carb long ago. Later, I moved toward keto. I explored alternative sweeteners so I could make desserts - isomalt, sorbitol, xylitol, allulose, etc - and I found they all had flaws. Some gave me gas or worse, some were just too expensive, and I found that xylitol is toxic to dogs.
I finally settled on
erythritol
as my primary sweetener. Why? First, it tastes good. If you've used erythritol, you know it has a cooling effect. This can be countered by adding other complimentary sweeteners. I add a small amount of polydextrose, a prebiotic fiber that is the next lowest to erythritol in calories from carbs (1/gram). If it doesn't taste good, I don't see the point of eating it. My Yummy Uglies are, as the name suggests, yummy.
Beyond yumminess, erythritol has some beautiful properties for anyone avoiding sucrose. As I've said already, It has a lower carb/calorie value per gram of any bulk sweetener I've found. Most sugar-free candies are made from sorbitol, isomalt, polyglycitol syrup, and sometimes xylitol. These are all better for you than sucrose/sugar, but they still have carbs/calories, 2 to 2.5 calories/gram (compared to sugar at 4 calories/gram like most carbohydrates).
Erythritol has TEN TIMES LESS
- .24 calories/gram. That's not a typo. POINT-TWO-FOUR cals/gram. This is why I use erythritol for most of my desserts and as the main ingredient for Yummy Uglies.
Aside from higher calories, the alternative sweeteners in most sugar-free candies sent me to the bathroom much too often. I have nice bathrooms, but I don't like them that much. These sweeteners' advantage (being somewhat non-digestible) is also their problem. What does your large intestine do with non-digestible sweeteners? It treats sorbitol, isomalt, and etc like fibers. They enter your large intestine and ferment, leading to gas or worse. This is why most sugar-free candies and other desserts have the warning about eating too much and having a laxative effect. If you've eaten sugar-free candy, you know what I'm talking about.
Erythritol avoids this problem in most people - I won't say all because everything affects someone - because 90% is absorbed in the small intestine. The fermentation party happens in the large intestine, and only small amounts of erythritol ever make it there. The vast majority of erythritol you eat passes out of your body undigested and unchanged. In fact, erythritol is the only common bulk sweetener that has a glycemic index of ZERO. Isomalt, sorbitol, xylitol and others all have higher GIs because they are partly digestible. Check out https://www.nutrientsreview.com/carbs if you want more info on all these sweeteners.
Okay, that's a long explanation, but for me, these were the key issues. I wanted a tasty treat with very low carb content that wouldn't give me gas or diarrhea. Is that too much to ask? Yummy Uglies made with erythritol were the answer for me. Erythritol and polydextrose (at 1 calorie/gram, the next lowest alternative sweetener I could find) also won't harm your teeth, are non-toxic to pets, and won't cause glucose or insulin spikes.
Yummy Uglies are sweet and tasty, but, alas, they are somewhat ugly. I mean, when I make these candies, they develop a few holes. I also don't add any food coloring. Some flavors have some color already, but I don't add more. Take a look at the pictures, and you'll see what I mean. I make Yummy Uglies, so I think they're adorable, but you might rightfully say, "That's not a beautiful candy." But I suggest you close your eyes and pop one into your mouth.
Ugly meets Yummy, and Yummy wins

About me. I'm Cliff, a one-person company. I make Yummy Uglies in a kitchen certified by the state of Pennsylvania in the small town of Sayre amidst the endless hills of Bradford County. I retired after a long career, and now I spend my time renovating my 1890 Victorian home, writing, producing audio fiction, and making Yummy Uglies candy.
I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about Yummy Uglies. Contact me here on Ebay.
About shipping - the shipping cost is included in the price of Yummy Uglies. I ship via USPS with tracking. The specific USPS option I use depends on how many bags of Yummy Uglies you buy. It might be first class, a flat-rate envelope, a flat-rate box, and so on. In every case, your Yummy Uglies will ship with tracking information.
Note also that the candy bag style might be different than the one shown in the photos. Bag availability and pricing change over time, so the bags I use change, too.
Lastly, a word about my return policy. This is a food item, so it can't be resold if returned, so returns are rather pointless. However, if you have a problem with your shipment, especially if the candy is damaged, I want to know about it, and I'll do what I can to make you happy.
I love Yummy Uglies, and I hope you will, too.
